Janet Wahlmeier and Tami Land opened Dogtopia of Raleigh in October 2008. Both worked at IBM and decided it was time to step away from the corporate world.
They talked about working with animals for five years and decided the timing was right. Now was the time to pursue their passion- dogs!
Since the doors opened, they never looked back. They pride themselves on delivering the absolute best in customer service and feel truly honored that clients entrust them with their precious dogs. Safety is always the top priority!
Tami and Janet are both fully supported by their families. It is not uncommon to see their family members helping out! Be it fixing a jammed door, or throwing a toy in the playrooms, the passion for making Dogtopia the best pet care facility in Raleigh is shared.
As a matter of fact, their families have grown since Dogtopia opened. Janet and Tami have both rescued dogs: Kiki and Lana who were adopted by Janet in January of 2009, Polly who was adopted in December of 2008 and Madea in October of 2010 by Tami.
In addition to a passion for dogs, Tami and Janet feel strongly about giving back to the community. Dogtopia of Raleigh is proud to support Second Chance Pet Adoptions and foster dogs for them at no cost. They have also partnered with and raised funds for Coalition to Unchain Dogs and the Raleigh Police Department K-9 unit.
Tami and Janet's top goal is to ensure that Dogtopia of Raleigh remains a safe, healthy and fun environment for every doggy client for the rest of his or her life.
