A Word from Amy

Welcome to the November issue of the Happy Tails Dog Spa™ newsletter! We hope this newsletter finds you enjoying the changing leaves; crisp early-morning walks with your dog and the beginning of the Holiday season.

This year, we are especially thankful for all of you, our wonderful customers! Through your patronage you have enabled us to continue expanding our business and upgrading our facilities.

On behalf of the staff and management team at Happy Tails Dog Spa™, I wish you and your families a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving!

Halloween Costume Contest

Congratulations to Ludmila Reigel of Fairfax who's 1½-year-old Shetland Sheepdog, Fibi, dressed up as Snow White and won our Halloween costume contest! Winning our Handsomest Costume award is Detective Dudley Bender, and the award for Prettiest Costume goes to the pretty pumpkin, Emma Dame.

Thank you to everyone who submitted photos. We had so much fun looking through the many adorable and creative submissions. It was difficult to choose just one picture, so we decided to showcase all of our favorites on our website.

Virginia License Plates to Benefit Dogs

Happy Tails Dog Spa™ urges our Virginia customers to show their love of dogs and donate to a truly worthwhile cause by applying for a license plate to benefit the AKC Canine Health Foundation.

This new program will fund research and education designed to fight and conquer breed-specific diseases. The organization needs 350 Virginia applicants to join them in this endeavor. After the foundation receives the first 350 applications and donations, the license plate will be offered permanently, helping many dogs live healthier and longer lives.

It only takes five minutes to fill out an application. Just follow these simple steps:

1. Download the Virginia license plate application or pick one up in our Tysons Corner, VA location.

2. Fill out the application.

3. Write out a check for $25.00 for a regular plate or $35.00 for a personalized plate to the Canine Health Foundation.

4. Mail in your check and form to:
The AKC Canine Health Foundation
P.O. Box 37941
Raleigh, NC 27627-7941

For more information, visit the AKC Canine Health Foundation.

Customer Appreciation Luau

This Thanksgiving season, the staff at Happy Tails Dog Spa™ has much to be thankful for, especially our customers! We also want to bring a little "sunshine" to November, so we are holding a Customer Appreciation Luau on Thursday, November 10 from 5-7 p.m.

The entire staff and management team will be on-hand to thank you for sharing your wonderful dogs with us. Tropical refreshments will be served, as well as take home treats for all dogs.

We hope you and your dog can make it. You won't want to miss the entertainment we have planned - sure to give you a chuckle or two! Please be sure to reserve a space in daycare, as we expect it will be a full house.

Please share your thoughts about Happy Tails Dog Spa™ on The Washingtonian's online pet care survey.
