About K-9 Support
Since 2005, Dogtopia's charitable arm has raised
funds to support military dogs, personnel, and veterans
On July 4, 2005, Dogtopia in Vienna, Va. began a campaign to create awareness and generate support for military dogs and their handlers stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere overseas.
Their first fundraiser, a dog wash, attracted national attention to their cause and brought in over $9,000. Funds were use to ship over 5,000 lbs of supplies. Packages included goodies for both humans and canines alike, but also essential equipment, such as cooling pads, protective eyewear and heat resistant clothing.
Following up on the campaign’s success, Dogtopia added a permanent non-profit arm to the company, known as K-9 Support, Inc., to support working dogs of all kinds. From military dogs to rescue dogs to Seeing Eye dogs, Dogtopia is committed to aiding these wonderful animals in any way we can. The charity has raised over $130,000 in donations to date.

Dogtopia’s 9th Annual K-9 Support Charity Dog Wash
Proceeds benefitted veterans in need of service dogs
The average cost to train and raise an assistance dog is between $30,000 and $40,000. On Sunday, July 21, 2013, all 29 Dogtopia locations across the country hosted a charity dog wash to raise funds locally and reduce those costs for our national partners. We raised more than $30,000 and washed more than 1200 dogs!
Thank you for all of your support. Watch our recap video here.
