Don Puryear, already a successful franchise broker, attorney and entrepreneur, first learned about Happy Tails Dog Spa™ franchise opportunities when he was researching dog day care services in the Harris County, TX area to send his two dogs.

As a franchise broker, he was amazed at its unique business offerings, its corporate values and its dedication to quality care. It wasn't long after he researched the franchise company that he decided he wanted to share this great opportunity with other Houston-area dog lovers.

With Julie Dow, the franchise's general manager, on board with Puryear, the company's first franchise in the Lone Star State is sure to prosper. Dow has worked with Puryear for more than five years and in the pet care industry for almost 20 years as a pet health product representative, a veterinary assistant, a dog-sitter and a groomer. Don and Julie are both certified in pet first aid, senior pet care, pet dental care, and canine massage.

A long-time resident of the city, Puryear earned his Bachelor's and law degrees from the University of Houston and currently resides there with his two-year-old Yorkshire Terriers, Spike and Daisy. Dow also lives in Houston with her three dogs: Flash, a 13-year-old Bullmastiff mix, Putney, an 11-year-old Rat Terrier and Zasha, a two-year-old Great Pyrenees mix.
