How much is the fee for continuing support services?

The continuing services, or "royalty fee", is 7% of your gross sales and is paid weekly. This fee entitles you to use the Dogtopia® service mark, use of distinctive system, marketing assistance, ongoing business development and counseling and other benefits that come with being a Dogtopia® franchisee.

Will I have an exclusive territory?

Happy To Be Here, Inc. offers exclusive territories with populations of approximately 200,000 people. Our professional territory developers examine many factors before granting a location in any given area. In-depth analysis is done for each territory generated, including examining household income, disposable income, household size, dog ownership and education level.

What about advertising?

The Dogtopia® name and reputation is an important part of your business. You will spend a minimum of $2,000 on grand-opening advertising during the first three months of operations. You will also spend at least 2% of your gross sales per month on local advertising. This advertising fee is not collected, but reported. In addition, if we should establish fees for a Marketing Fund, you will be expected to make Marketing Fund contributions of up to 2% of your weekly gross sales.

How much training is provided in the Dogtopia® system?

You will participate in an initial training course that will last approximately three weeks. The initial program will focus on all aspects of the Dogtopia® franchise system and is comprised of classroom and on-the-job training.

What form of business start-up assistance and ongoing support will I receive?

Happy To Be Here, Inc. will provide onsite assistance for two weeks before and after your grand opening. The week of the grand opening we will be onsite with you to support the development of your grassroots marketing program. The follow-up visit will occur after youšve reached certain revenue goals. We will also periodically schedule visits throughout the course of the franchise term, which are designed to provide operational assistance and guidance in various aspects of your Dogtopia® business. Also, your confidential Dogtopia® Operations Manual contains specifications, standards, operating procedure and suggestions to aid you in the operation of your Dogtopia® business.

What is the term of the Dogtopia® Franchise Agreement?

The initial term of the Franchise Agreement is ten years from the date the Franchise Agreement is signed. The franchise is renewable for three additional terms of five years each, providing you have complied with the provisions of the Franchise Agreement. After the end of the 25 year term, a new franchise agreement would be signed.
