About Us
The Research Triangle region of North Carolina is booming and after working as a court reporter for more than 25 years, Julie Chapin decided it was a great time to go into business for herself!
She became inspired to seek out a business that would allow her to couple her love of animals with her desire for business ownership. She came across Dogtopia while researching dog daycare concepts online. After visiting the corporate headquarters to tour the facilities and meet the corporate staff, she immediately recognized Dogtopia's shared passion for the dogs and was especially excited by the focus on local charitable efforts with rescues and adoption groups.
Julie appreciates the value of dog day cares to owners with busy schedules and work long hours - especially dog daycares that let the dogs play most of the day, as opposed to keeping them crated.
Julie has brought her good friend, Elaine Anninos, to act as assistant manager of Dogtopia of Durham. Elaine comes to Dogtopia with a background of working in dog rescue/adoption and natural care-giving instincts, as she she's been a nurse for years. Prior to moving to Raleigh, she acted as Vice-President of the Portland, OR chapter of Greyhound Pets of America and ran their local foster program. They both look forward to providing a safe, fun, upscale environment for area dog lovers.
Julie lives near Southpoint Mall, in southwest Durham with her daughter Meghan and their two black labs, Jewels and Lilly. Everyone in the family is looking forward to actively participating in the business. Lilly especially, who is full of energy and loves to run and jump! So much so that Meghan has set-up an agility course in their backyard for Lilly to train on.

Dog Daycare Staff:
Position involves managing the daycare playrooms. Responsibilities include supervising the dogs for appropriate play and maintaining a safe and clean environment. We have two shifts available: 7am - 3pm (our morning shift) or 1pm - 8pm (our afternoon shift). Please note that we are not hiring temporary or summer help.
